City of Calgary Water Kill Deposit Refund Procedure
Prior to July 1, 2021 the City of Calgary required a water kill deposit from the builder. This was to ensure that the water kill was completed by Precision Underground when the trench was excavated and the new pipe was being installed. It was NOT turning the water off at street level. The cost of the water kill IS included in our quoted price.
A City of Calgary inspector ensures the contractor has completed the kill. Once Precision completes the job and you receive your invoice from us, you may apply to the city to receive your deposit back - If applicable. As per the City website, the refund will be made upon request and the request must be made within two years.

Service Disconnection (Water Kill) Security Deposit Refund (PRIOR to July 1,2021)*
The services must be disconnected from the water and sewer mains for the disconnection deposit to be refunded. The refund will be made upon request to the City by the builder, and the request must be made within two years. The City will confirm that Precision Underground has completed the disconnections.
